The Mining Museum and Rollo Jamison Museum are located side by side at the eastern end of Platteville's Downtown Historic District. The museums include an underground tour of the 1845 Bevans Lead Mine, a ride in a 1931 mine train aboveground, and exhibits on Platteville and area history.

Hours

The Mining Museum and the Rollo Jamison Museum are open daily 9-5 May through October. Self-guided galleries and office are open Monday-Friday 9-4, November through April. Group tours available year 'round by appointment.

Tickets
Tickets which include admission to both The Mining Museum and Rollo Jamison Museum are Adult $8.00, Seniors $7.00, Child 5-15 $4.00 with under 5 free, Family $22 (up to two adults and two or more dependent children 5-17).

November through April admission to the Rollo Jamison Museum and the Mining Museum building is $4 adults and seniors and $2 for children 5-15. This does not include the mine.

Heritage Day July 4 

9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Come celebrate the 4th at the Rollo Jamison Museum. 
Music by Bob Welch, Songs of the Civil War at 11:00 and The Wundo Band from 12-4.  Demonstrations of treadle sweing machine, woodworking, spinning wool, gramophones and music boxes.     Children's games from the 19th century, See  and a See a car display by the Southwest Wisconsin Auto Club and hit and miss engine demonstrationsCraft creations - Make a corn husk doll, pennant or streamers or decorate a hat at the Rountree Gallery.  Get a treat from the Platteville Music Boosters Food Stand.  The day starts with a 5K Walk/Run and Youth Run with registration at 8:30 and start time at 9:00.  Admission to the Rollo Jamison Museum, music and special activities is free.  Reduced admission to the Mine tour and train ride.
