Excavation on the library block is ongoing. Earlier this week, steel was being installed in preparation for precast concrete floor panels. City staff has been assured that the crane will be moved and the street will be open to traffic for the holiday weekend.
Library Block Project Update - Thursday, June 16th | Jun 16, 2016
Excavation on the library block is continuing. Contractors recently began pouring concrete walls for the library portion of the building, and work on this is continuing. On June 23 and 24 we are expecting to see precast floor panels installed. The contractor's portion of the library is scheduled to be complete in late March. Additional time is scheduled for the installation of furniture, fixtures and equipment, as well as moving from the old to new location. The revised construction schedule for all three buildings - library, hotel, and clinic - is for opening to be in May or June of 2017. …

The contractor is continuing with excavation, footings and walls for the underground parking beneath the new Library. Due to concrete scheduling, the eastbound lane of Main Street will be closed on Friday afternoon, May 27th. A revised schedule is in progress, but we believe the target date for completion of the Library portion will be the end of February or early March 2017. Future Work: Crews will continue to pour footings and walls in the Library area, then in the Hotel area. Bronson Street Construction Update – May 26, 2016 | May 26, 2016
Work on Bonson Street began on May 16th. City Hall steps were removed and a test wall for the color and surface texture of the pedestals was poured. On Wednesday, May 25th the contractor did a tie-in for a new water line at Main Street, and is installing the water line toward Furnace Street. Future work: The contractor will begin work on the steps and pedestals. Another crew will continue working on the water main. To access City Hall, please use the Mineral Street entrance.
