The Community Planning & Development Department is responsible for guiding, promoting and regulating the built environment in the City of Platteville.  The department also works cooperatively with Platteville Township to regulate construction and planning activities in the surrounding extraterritorial zoning and planning area.  The department oversees  the long-range and short-range planning and implementation of comprehensive plans, downtown redevelopment, community development, historic preservation, zoning, housing programs and building inspection.

Former Pioneer Ford Property Visioning Session Scheduled For December 1st | Nov 23, 2015
PLATTEVILLE, WI (November 23, 2015) – The City of Platteville is in the process of purchasing the former Pioneer Ford properties in the downtown area.  The properties are being acquired to help achieve the goal of redevelopment of key downtown sites. The City will be conducting a visioning session to gather input from key stakeholders and the general public, into the preferred redevelopment of this site.  The visioning session will be held on Tuesday, December 1st from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Mound City Bank drive-thru meeting room at 90 S.
