Thank you, Charlie and Joyce Clark for your $5,000 donation to the New Platteville Fire Facility project!

Charlie and Joyce Clark have been Platteville residents since our country celebrated its bicentennial (1976). That's also when they moved into an apartment that was right across from the current fire station. That summer, Charlie was hired by Platteville Public Schools as a high school counselor, and within the year, Joyce was working as support staff at the university.

"Making mortgage payments on a house bought within a year of arriving in Platteville and soon after raising two sons, we had more of our 'time' and 'talent' to give to the community than 'treasure' back then. Now we're both retired and more able to give back to the community financially. Supporting the efforts to provide our community with a top-notch facility for our dedicated fire department volunteers is an excellent investment of some of the 'treasure' we are blessed to now have."

Charlie added, "Even back when we lived right next to the fire station, you could tell things were cramped in that facility. Getting a new fire station is long overdue. We hope others will also see the wisdom of such an investment in their community and give according to what their heart, mind, and wallet will support."
