Donation of $100,000 in Honor of Wendell Rice Given Toward New Platteville Fire Facility Project

Wendell Rice Donation Received By Platteville Fire Department

To honor the memory of Platteville Volunteer Firefighter Wendell Rice, a $100,000 donation was presented to the City of Platteville for the new Fire Facility project. Rice served as a volunteer firefighter for over 52 years. He also served the community as an EMT and police officer. Platteville's volunteer fire force has been operating with a severely outdated facility A new fire station will not only improve fire service to Platteville and the surrounding townships, it will also serve as a symbol of pride for the community. This donation will aid the City in the design and construction of the much-needed new fire station.
