The Platteville Public Library seeks an energetic student to participate in a limited-term, paid, part-time Library Summer Internship. 

Skills and responsibilities: This is an opportunity to explore their talents and perspectives to help impact their community.  The intern will develop a connected learning project that advances the library’s mission and benefits the community while working closely with the Youth Services team. The ideal candidate will have great interpersonal skills, be flexible, have an interest in serving diverse populations, and have an interest in working in libraries. 

Example of Essential Duties:

  • Meet regularly with the Youth Services Manager
  • Work closely with Library staff to learn about various positions in the organization
  • Craft a meaningful library project under the guidance of their mentor which will be completed through the course of the internship
  • Write about the internship and connected learning project experience
  • Maintain regular punctual and predictable attendance
  • Assist library staff as needed

Education: Interns must be entering their junior or senior year of high school, or first year of college.

Starting wage: $15.00/hour

Work hours: 10-15 hours per week. Some evenings and weekends may be required.  This position will run between June 3, 2024 – August 31, 2024.
