Ordinance Reminder Regarding Animals In Parks

As a friendly public information reminder, pursuant to City Ordinance 6.02(a)(5), there are certain parks and areas of parks that prohibit any domestic animals, including dogs (with the exception of trained service animals). Those parks include City Park and Harrison Park. The areas that animals are prohibited by signage include, the Platteville Family Aquatic Center, Smith Park's Inclusive Playground, Legion ball diamonds and soccer fields, as well as within 20 feet of playgrounds. Please keep children and all patrons that visit these parks safe, by honoring this ordinance.  Look for new signs that were recently installed by the Platteville Parks Department.
