Platteville Optimist Club Tri-Star Basketball Skills Contest Scheduled for April 9th

If you have children ages 6 thru 13 as of this March 15, 2016, and if they enjoy basketball, then the following information is for you (and them!).

At 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016, the Platteville Optimist Club will be hosting their annual Tri-Star Basketball Skills event on Bo Ryan Court in the Pioneer Activity Center on the UW-Platteville campus.  Registration will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

At this event, young basketball players compete with others in their division (same age and gender) as they earn scores for performing passing, dribbling, and shooting drills. First place trophies will be awarded in each division, with first place winners being eligible for the Southwest Wisconsin District competition on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Mukwonago High School gym. All participants will be awarded certificates of participation at the conclusion of the event.

If your kids would like to participate in this year’s Tri-Star Basketball Skills event, they need to show up on Saturday, April 9th, with an application containing a parent/guardian signature. An application accompanies this letter, which can be completed and brought to the event, or parent/guardian can sign one of the applications available that day. Parents are welcome to watch the competition.
