The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is gearing up for the 101st Homecoming, taking place Sept. 28–Oct. 4, 2025, with this year’s theme celebrating all things Pioneer! The following are just some of the events to rope in students, alumni and the community to celebrate this festive time of year for the university.

Community events:
Dust off your boots as the festivities begin on Sunday, Sept. 28, with a student volleyball tournament at 3 p.m. in Williams Fieldhouse, where the first homecoming points will be awarded. The competition continues when the Pioneer Men’s Soccer faces off against Wartburg at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 1, followed by the Pioneer Women’s Soccer taking on Dubuque at 7:30 p.m. Both matches will be at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium. On Thursday, Oct. 2, join our students as the excitement builds with Yell Night and the coronation of Homecoming Royalty at 7 p.m. in Bo Ryan Court. 

Student events:
The Homecoming Kickoff is set for Monday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. on the Northwest Patio of Markee Pioneer Student Center, featuring sweet treats from Pioneer Sweets and a variety of western-themed fun. That evening, enjoy the Homecoming Banner Ceremony from 6:30–7 p.m. in Pioneer Crossing, also at The Markee. The Tug of War is set for Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 5:30 p.m. in Memorial Park. The Homecoming Hoedown is happening Friday, Oct. 3, in Pioneer Crossing at The Markee. Kick things off with line dancing lessons at 5:30 p.m., followed by a dance and an opportunity for the fearless to test their grit on the mechanical bull! 

Gameday and Homecoming Parade: 
Alumni are invited to the Alumni Homecoming Hospitality Tent Saturday, Oct. 4 at 9 a.m. at 385 West Main Street.  

All are invited to enjoy UW-Platteville’s Homecoming Parade on Main Street at 10 a.m. followed by the annual Homecoming Luncheon at 11 a.m. on the South Patio of Ullsvik Hall. Tickets are $10.  

The excitement continues with the UW-Platteville Football Team taking on UW-Stevens Point at 1 p.m., and concludes with the traditional lighting of the “M” and fireworks at Platte Mound at 9 p.m.
