In addition, Platteville serves as a retail center for the southwest portion of Wisconsin and regional tourism destination.

The Platteville Schools District consistently ranks as one of the best in the state (rated as significantly exceeds expectations in 2015-16) and just completed $16 million in facility improvements.
As the home to the University of Wisconsin at Platteville, a top notch STEM school, we have a wide variety of technical and research resources right in our backyard.
Transportation to/from and within Platteville is easy. Platteville is conveniently located on four lane US Highway 151 between Dubuque, Iowa and Madison, WI. The community is also served by the Platteville Municipal Airport. Employees and customers can use Platteville Public Transportation system to access your business.
Platteville Area Industrial Development Corporation, known as PAIDC, works to strengthen economic development and quality of life through the growth of businesses in the Platteville, Wisconsin, area. Platteville serves as the retail and service hub for Southwest Wisconsin and is home to several national retailers, including Walmart, Menards, Aldi and Ashley Furniture. Platteville is poised for retail growth with a trade area of over 77,475. The Platteville Industrial Development Corporation or city staff can assist with retail opportunities along the Business Highway 151 Corridor.
The Platteville Business Incubator can help with the launch of a new business. Incubator tenants get the support of business expert coaches, become part of a like-minded entrepreneurial community and benefit from below market rate rent. Businesses may stay at the Platteville Business Incubator for 3-5 years, although some companies graduate sooner.
