Candidate Forum For District 4 Council Vacancy To Be Held Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.

The City of Platteville has received five letters of interest from eligible candidates seeking appointment to the District 4 vacancy created by the retirement of Alderperson Ken Kilian. The applicants, listed alphabetically, are: Clark Cybart-Fuson, Exie Fleming, William Kloster, Michael Osterholz and Brian Whisenant.

A Candidate Forum will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The Common Council may take action following the forum. The selected candidate will serve the remainder of the District 4 term, which expires in April 2027.

Anticipated Interview and Discussion Process
The process may include:

1. Introductions: Each candidate will have 5 minutes to introduce themselves to the Council and those in attendance.
    
2. Questions: Candidates will be asked a series of questions, answering in turn. The order will rotate with each question to ensure fairness.
    
3. Closing Remarks: Each candidate will have 1 minute for closing remarks.
    
4. Council Deliberation: The Council will then move into a possible nomination process, discussion, and voting to appoint a candidate to the vacancy.
