Platteville City Manager Clinton Langreck Submits Letter of Resignation

PLATTEVILLE, WI (November 20, 2025) – City Manager Clinton Langreck has submitted his letter of resignation to the Common Council of the City of Platteville.  Langreck has accepted the position of Iowa County Administrator in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.

In his letter to the Council and City Staff Langreck shared, “First, to the City Council, thank you for the opportunity and guidance you have provided during my tenure. You have a terrific team, and the confidence you place in staff to manage on your behalf is an organizational trait I hope carries long into the future. To our Department Heads, I am deeply grateful for your continued support. You are a fantastic team of seasoned leaders, and it has been a pleasure sharing in the many meaningful projects we have undertaken together. To our City Staff, thank you for representing this organization with character, pride, and professionalism. Your dedication is the foundation of our success. To the many City Partners, thank you for exemplifying the spirit of a community that truly ‘rows together.’ Your collaboration has been instrumental in achieving shared goats and advancing Platteville's vision.

In the final remarks of his resignation Langreck commented, “Thank you again for allowing me to be part of this family and community. I look forward to future projects and adventures in my new role as Iowa County Administrator, and I will always carry with me the pride of having served Platteville. “

Langreck began his career as the Platteville City Manager in May of 2023.  He was previously County Administrator of Richland County, Richland Center, Wisconsin.  Langreck’s resignation is effective December 19, 2025.  In accepting his resignation, the Common Council expressed sincere gratitude to Clint for the work that has been accomplished during his tenure mentioning specifically the construction of the fire facility and the construction of the family aquatic center, as well as dealing with all aspects of  facility review and repair planning, resulting from the extraordinary April 2025 hail storm.  The Council will be contracting with a professional recruitment firm as it seeks to fill this important leadership role.
