New York Times bestselling Indigenous author Angeline Boulley is coming to Platteville! UW-Platteville will be hosting Indigenous, New York Times bestselling author Angeline Boulley for a reading and discussion. The event will focus on Boulley’s famous 2021 novel, Firekeeper’s Daughter. Students, staff, and community members are encouraged to attend.

About the Author:
Angeline Boulley, an enrolled member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, is a storyteller who writes about her Ojibwe community. Her debut novel, Firekeeper’s Daughter, was an instant #1 New York Times bestseller. The American Library Association named it the Michael L. Printz Award for excellence in young adult literature and William C. Morris Award for best young adult novel by a debut author. TIME magazine named it one of “The 100 Best Young Adult Books of all Time,” and it won the Goodreads Choice Award for Best YA Novel.
Her follow-up novel, "Warrior Girl Unearthed", was also an instant New York Times bestseller and won the Boston Globe’s Horn Book Award. Her most recent novel, "Sisters in the Wind", also debuted on the New York Times bestseller list, received seven starred reviews, and was named a Printz award honor book. Boulley lives in southwest Michigan, but her heart will always be on Sugar Island.
