Community Service Officer Truck - Platteville Police Department

1. Introduction
The City of Platteville Police Department (PPD) is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified vendors for the purchase of one (1) new compact pickup truck to be utilized by a Community Service Officer (CSO). The vehicle will be used for non-emergency police operations, community engagement, parking enforcement, traffic control, light equipment transport, and general municipal support functions.

4. Vehicle Overview and Intended Use
The requested vehicle will serve as a highly visible, community-oriented police support vehicle used for parking enforcement, ordinance compliance, transport of equipment, community events, and general municipal duties.

5. Mandatory Vehicle Specifications

    A. General Configuration

  • New, current or most recent model year
  • Compact pickup truck
  • Four-door crew cab
  • Seating for at least five (5)

    B. Powertrain & Performance

  • Gasoline or hybrid gasoline-electric powertrain
  • Automatic transmission
  • Four-wheel drive (4WD)(preferred) or All-wheel drive
  • High fuel efficiency engine
  • Minimum payload capacity of approximately 1,300 lbs
  • Light towing capability

  • Emphasis on city fuel economy
  • EPA estimates to be provided

  • Short bed with bed liner
  • Lockable tailgate
  • Backup camera
  • Durable wheels for year-round use

  • ABS
  • Electronic stability control
  • Airbags
  • Blind spot monitoring preferred

6. Police and Municipal Upfitting
Vehicle must support light police upfitting including emergency lighting, radio wiring, computer dock, and decals.

7. Warranty and Service
Long term warranty plan (125,000+/$0 deductible preferred).

8. Pricing
Itemized pricing required including delivery and any government or fleet discounts.

9. Vendor Qualifications
Experience with municipal or law enforcement fleet vehicles required.

10. Evaluation and Award Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated on compliance, cost, fuel efficiency, warranty, and which vehicle best fits the police department's needs.

11. Proposal Submission Requirements
Sealed bids, marked “Police CSO vehicle” may be submitted either to the City Manager’s Officer of the Platteville Police Department. Bids received after the deadline will not be considered.

12. Terms, Conditions, and Reservation of Rights
The City of Platteville reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
