Multiple Charges Filed After Traffic Stop

On October 11th at 1:48 am, Platteville Police Officers observed a vehicle being driven erratically in the City of Platteville. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, Michael Ryan Jones, 34 of Platteville. An Officer administered field sobriety tests and determined that Jones was operating while impaired by alcohol or drugs. He was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated. During processing he became violent and was ultimately transported to the Grant County Jail. When Jones was resisting being taken to jail he did spit and kick at officers as well.

Jones was charged with:
Operating a Motor Vehicle While under the Influence 5th offense
Attempt Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer
Throw or Discharge Bodily Fluids at Public Safety Worker.
In addition to the above charges Jones was charged with 9 counts of Bail Jumping.
Jones is currently being held in the Grant County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
