A public information meeting regarding the 2028 East Main Street Project was held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the Common Council Chambers at City Hall. The project's objective is to replace utilities in 2027 and reconstruct the street, including the large storm sewer culvert in 2028. The 2027 Water and Sanitary Sewer project is separate from the other project and will be designed and bid locally. The 2028 project is partially funded by WisDOT and will be bid in late 2027 for construction in 2028 - hopefully.

Attached are Alternate 1 and Alternate 2 as presented in the Public Involvement Meeting (PIM) on February 17.

February 17, 2025

Based on input from the Community Safe Routes Committee, there is Alternate 4 to remove parking on the south side of E. Main Street from Water to Virgin, install bike lanes in both directions and use the space to make driving lanes, parking lanes and sidewalk wider. Attached are two Options - one to keep parking on the north side between Broadway and the Eastman Cartwright driveway and the other Option to remove parking. WisDOT is still in the process of reviewing environmental documents prior to approving the City to acquire 250 E. Main St. Staff hopes to receive that approval before the end of 2026.
