New Platteville Fire Facility Update 7-14-2025

Utilities work is nearly complete except for a small section of storm sewer and the main electrical work which will come in after footings and foundations are set. Rain has delayed progress by at least a week, but crews are working diligently to catch up.

During the week of July 14, the focus will remain on foundations and footings. Footings were initially scheduled for 6 weeks and foundations for 9 weeks, with backfilling to follow. Metal framing could start as early as August 4, if crews are able to catch up.

Staff continue to work with Wendel and Kraemer on a solution for the elevation of the Court Street sidewalk. Elevations in the 3-D rendering did not accurately depict the intersection of Court Street and Adams Street (high point of the parcel) in comparison to the fire facility parking lot.
