1-26 Jefferson St (Cedar St. to Lewis St.)

A Public Information meeting regarding the upcoming Jefferson Street Reconstruction project was held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City 
Hall, which is located at 75 N. Bonson Street, Platteville, Wisconsin 53818.

The City of Platteville will be reconstructing Jefferson Street from Cedar Street to Lewis Street.
This is a full reconstruction of Jefferson Street including: replacing the water main and sanitary 
sewer; adding storm sewer; full street replacement including new curb and gutter and asphalt 
pavement; and replacing the sidewalk on the east side of the street. This project will be bid in March 2026 with work anticipated to begin in May/June 2026 and be completed in early fall 2026. Construction should last approximately 3 to 4 months once it begins.

In late spring or early summer there will be a second Public Information meeting that will focus on the construction and its impact on the properties and residents of the street.
