The Legion Park Event Center committee is pleased to announce that Wisconsin Bank &Trust (WB&T) has committed $25,000 to the new event center.  Sheri Engelke, WB&T Assistant Vice President, Commercial/Ag Banker and Chair Person of the Committee, spent hours with her family while growing up in the Legion Park horse arena which no longer is there.   Her sons also played ball in Legion field.  She is dedicated to making this project a success leading the team in finalizing design, selection of contractor and fundraising.  Sheri shares: “The old art hall has long been the center of our Dairy Days Celebration.  Replacing it with a badly needed state-of-the-art event center is a tribute to our farming community and our long agriculture tradition.”

Tim Hardyman, WB&T President, noted, “It is only right that our banking community should lead the way in appreciation of our farming customers; it is our privilege to be a part of the financial community leading this initiative.”

Vince Graney, fundraising leader for the project, said, “Initial response has been very good.  Other major financial institution, business and family donor announcements will soon be made.  If you want to be proactive and join these contributors, please call me (732-0327) or Sheri Engelke (642-5485) to learn more.”

“Many of our residents, local businesses and service organizations have reaffirmed the need for a new event center and are encouraging the Legion Park Event Center team.  We anticipate the number of donors in this community collaboration will far exceed the 500 PCA trail contributors, as our community is growing in philanthropy.” noted Gene Weber of Inspiring Community.

Those wishing to be a part of this effort may send checks to Inspiring Community, Inc. PO Box 503, Platteville, Wi 53818 and note “Event Center” on memo line.
