City of Platteville Common Council Approves 2026 Fee Schedule

Platteville, WI — The City of Platteville Common Council approved the City’s 2026 Fee Schedule at its meeting on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. The updated fee schedule will take effect on January 1, 2026.

Each year, City staff conduct a comprehensive review of fees charged for municipal services, including licenses, permits, inspections, programs, and facility use. Based on this annual review, staff recommended adjustments to select fees to ensure commitment to maintaining high-quality services and facilities while responsibly managing operational costs.

While several fees will remain unchanged from 2025, updates were approved in the following departments:

  • Building Inspection: Additions and removals of certain fees, along with adjustments to existing minimums and inspection fees (as new permitting will now be done through General Engineering Company, a contracted service).
  • Library: A change to the Community Room qualification criteria for fee assessment.
  • Museum: Admission fee increases, the addition of the new “Museum After Dark” program, and increases to select program fees.
  • Parks & Recreation: Introduction of non-resident rental fees for the Broske Center and the addition of non-resident fees for pool season passes and daily admission.
  • Planning and Development: Transfer of fees from Building Inspection, no fee change
  • Public Works and Cemetery: Increases to cemetery fees and the addition of a Transfer of Right of Burial fee. This new processing fee is intended to cover administrative time required to process and track transfers, as well as staff time needed to verify availability.
