Building Inspection

The Building Inspection Department provides inspection services for new construction and remodeling of buildings in the City of Platteville, and some inspection in the surrounding Extraterritorial Area.  The department also enforces the erosion control ordinance, the property maintenance standards, and assists with enforcement of the zoning ordinance.

Notice:  Applications for building permits for the construction of new one- and two- family dwellings must be completed electronically using the Electronic Safety and Licensing Application, known as eSLA.  The applications must be submitted through the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) website.
