Draft 2026 Comprehensive Plan

 

The City is working with the Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission on an update to the Comprehensive Plan.  This plan will act as a guide for the long-term growth and development of the City of Platteville for the next 10 years.  Any comments on the plan can be submitted up until the anticipated adoption date of March 24th.  Send comments to Joe Carroll, Community Development Director, at carrollj@platteville.org.

 

The Planning Division is responsible for providing long-range planning activities through the Comprehensive Plan, Downtown Revitalization Plan and other related activities.

Capital Improvement Plan

The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) provides a five-year schedule of future public works projects and major equipment purchases.

2013 Comprehensive Plan

The Comprehensive Plan represents a guide for the long-term growth and development of the community.  The plan includes a vision to guide future development, an inventory of the community's resources, an analysis of trends, a series of recommendations, and an implementation strategy. 

Downtown Revitalization Plan

The Downtown Revitalization Plan is a guide to help City officials and economic development professionals attract and direct investment in Downtown Platteville in ways that support the long term viability and sustainability of the downtown economy.

Housing Study and Needs Assessment

The housing study and needs analysis is intended to provide a basis for formulating community-specific housing priorities, policy alternatives and intervention strategies, including land use and zoning decisions, and help guide decisions related to the allocation of public funds and other resources. 

Official Map

The Official Map is a tool designed to preserve land for future public uses - primarily street right-of-way, drainage areas and parks.
