Tuesday, November 3, 2026 - General Election Election

Polls are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.

The City of Platteville has two polling locations - Broske Center, 400 Pitt Street and Ullsvik Hall-UW Platteville, 30 S Hickory.

Public Test of Voting Machines : November 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Council Chambers on the 2nd Floor of City Hall at 75 N. Bonson St., Platteville, WI.

In-Office Absentee Voting in the Council Chambers will start Tuesday, October 20, 2026 to Friday, October 23, 2026, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm,  Monday, October 26, 2026, to Thursday, October 29, 2026,  8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday, October 30, 2026, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Council Chambers is located on the upper level of City Hall, 75 N Bonson Street, Platteville.

Remember to bring your photo ID to the polling locations.

In accordance with a recent court ruling, YOU CANNOT MAIL OR DELIVER A BALLOT FOR ANOTHER PERSON. Any Wisconsin voter who requires assistance with mailing or delivering their absentee ballot to the municipal clerk because of a disability must be permitted to receive such assistance by a person of the voter's choice, other than the voter's employer or agent of that employer or officer or agent of the voter's union. Absentee Ballots that have a request on file will be mailed no later than September 17 .

PLEASE NOTE: All Absentee Ballots will now be processed at a Central Count location: City Hall, Council Chambers, 75 N Bonson Street, Platteville, WI 53818 on election day. Absentee Ballots will no longer be processed at the corresponding polling place on Election Day. See notice below for more information.

If you are returning your Absentee Ballot in person on Election Day, please return it to City Clerk's office, City Hall, not your polling place.

When can I expect to receive my absentee ballot?

Absentee ballots are mailed out 47 days before a federal election or 21 days before a primary or other election.

What if I’m already registered to vote elsewhere?

Your registration cannot be transferred from another municipality unless a new registration form is completed in the City of Platteville.  You will be asked to fill out a new registration form so that your prior registration can be cancelled and your voter history can be transferred to the City of Platteville.  You will need to provide a proof of residence with your registration form.
